No. J2K1201

Aloha to disciple Dave for sending us this CD cover featuring the holiest haole surfing some pipeline on His crucifix.

The anointed one is hanging ten for this all-surf-rock tribute to Jesus Christ Superstar. The songs are surfed out versions of the original Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice rock opera, performed by a bunch of surf bands that I've never heard of so I really don't know which ones to point out. The one transmutation I found was the Pipelines' version of "Simon Zealotes" where "Touch me touch me Jesus" and "Kiss me kiss me Jesus" is sung as "Surf me, surf me Jesus."

So, I guess we can just use the word "surf" to replace anything now, like "smurf"?

Check out the album on CD Baby, where you can preview all the songs and continue admiring the Big Kahuna on the cover of this compilation.

It's pretty smurfy. Or surfy. Or gnarly. Or whatever.

Have an image of Jesus you feel sums the ol' Christ up? Submit the bugger!
