It really does brighten up the whole scene to have that giant sunflower behind this agonizing Lord, doesn't it? I like to pretend I'm looking at the picture sideways, and that He's really laying down with His arms open wide in relaxation, his head on a flower-petal pillow. Or maybe you could pretend that the son of God is in bloom. Aaah. That makes the whole crucifixion story a lot more mellow. I think I'll pop an Ambien and float away now.
